Peter Smart - Wildlife Photographer, Tutor and Tour Leader

I have been a keen and successful photographer all my life and turned professional in 2002 to pursue my passion for travelling and capturing images of the natural world, and sharing these experiences with others. Since then I have led nearly 100 tours (around half to Kenya alone) to more than a dozen different countries and enjoyed the company of hundreds of fellow photographers many of whom are kind enough to travel with me again and again.

I own and operate Going Digital Photography Courses South Midlands offering a variety of exciting and informative workshops covering all levels of experience and interests. I tutor wildlife photography workshops for Going Digital around the country as well as in my own region, and I also manage their programme of overseas tours and safaris.

Over the last 12 years I have tutored over 500 photography workshops, led nearly 100 overseas tours and provided many individuals with one-to-one tuition. During this period I have worked with several fully-bonded travel companies based in the UK to provide my clients with financial security when travelling. I have also established lasting relationships with many local operators and naturalists around the World.

In addition to leading workshops, providing tuition and presenting lectures in the UK, I escort a variety of wildlife photography tours each year to a variety of countries including Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, India, Sri Lanka, Borneo, Indonesia, Brazil, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and the Arctic.

I treat it as a genuine privilege to introduce clients to the wildlife, landscapes and people of the countries I visit and I aim to use my knowledge, experience, and organisational skills (mixed with a little fun) to ensure that not only will my clients have excellent photographic and game-viewing opportunities but also a highly enjoyable holiday!
