Wildfowl & Waders - A Wildlife Film!

I recently enjoyed a lovely weekend in Norfolk attending the popular Introduction to Wildlife Film-making course presented by the fantastic guys from wildeye.co.uk along with a lovely bunch of budding wildlife film-makers. One of the practical sessions was held at the lovely Pensthorpe Natural Park - looking rather less lovely in the rain - giving the opportunity to put the lessons into practice. As an exercise I subsequently edited a few of the clips to produce my first ever wildlife film … it’s unlikely to win any awards but you’re welcome to have a look! A Visit to RAF Coningsby

I'm confident all this practice photographing aircraft will be useful once I have a spare day with fairly kind weather and reasonably cooperative wildlife ... but I couldn't resist the opportunity to view the first flight of the year of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Lancaster at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. Different challenges are presented by propeller aircraft with the need to keep the shutter speed slow (to avoid the disconcerting sight of aircraft flying with their props not moving) accompanied by smooth panning to keep the subject sharp.
