RSPB Frampton in Spring & Summer
During the Spring & Summer of 2017 I visited the wonderful RSPB Frampton Marsh reserve in Lincolnshire on many occasions.
April saw the arrival of the summer visitors including Sedge Warbler, Common Tern and Avocet. There were also a few surprises such as a very confiding Little Gull and some rather late departing (May!) Brent Geese who were unlikely to have made their breeding grounds in the short window they have available for rearing their chicks.
There were also many passage migrants moving further north to breed such as many different species of waders resplendent in their breeding plumage, such as Black-tailed Godwit, and delightful Yellow Wagtails.
The resident species such as Coot and Skylark also provided some interesting photo opportunities although my attempt to capture a Skylark in flight was challenging!
