
RSPB Frampton in Spring & Summer
During the Spring & Summer of 2017 I visited the wonderful RSPB Frampton Marsh reserve in Lincolnshire on many occasions. April saw the arrival of the summer visitors including Sedge Warbler, Common Tern and Avocet. Amongst the Heather at Roydon Common
Another new location visited in August was the delightful Roydon Common near Kings Lynn, a reserve managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust as part of the Gaywood Valley Living Landscape. On a lovely sunny day the heather was in bloom and dragonflies and butterflies were everywhere. At least 15 species of dragonfly frequently occur at Roydon, including the rare black darter, for which this is one of only two breeding sites in Norfolk. We found a lovely quiet area to observe and
